Maharashtra is set to host its inaugural MSME Defence Expo from February 24 to 26, at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Moshi, Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Maharashtra MSME Defence Expo: From February 24 to 26, Maharashtra will hold its first-ever MSME Defence Expo at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre (PIECC) in Moshi, Pimpri-Chinchwad.

In an effort to support medium-sized and small businesses and establish the state as a leading centre for military production, the Indian military Forces and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will take part in this exhibition.

In addition, the exhibition hopes to give well-known business executives, creative startups, and dynamic MSMEs a stage on which to display their skills, encouraging cooperation and opening up a world of opportunity for the defence industry.

Different Maharashtran institutions and engineering institutes expect about 10,000 students to participate. Students will get an unmatched chance to network with senior leaders from the tri-services and business experts who work closely with the defence industry.

The exhibition will be opened by Union Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Ajay Bhatt, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Industries Minister Uday Samant, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, Chief of Air Staff Vivek Ram Chaudhari, Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar will grace the exhibition.

“After PM Modi brought the thought of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector, it led to the creation of numerous defence MSMEs, enhancing the country’s capabilities,” Fadnavis stressed in reflection on the significance of the exhibition. “With Maharashtra boasting 10 ordinance factories and five defence PSUs, along with the presence of major companies like Tata, L&T, and Bharat Forge, the state has cultivated a robust ecosystem in the defence sector, generating significant employment opportunities,” he stated.
