Nabhdrishti Aerospace: IIMA Ventures (formerly IIMA-CIIE) led the pre-seed financing of Rs 3 crore for deep-tech firm Nabhdrishti Aerospace. With the money, the company—which wants to transform clean energy solutions in the aerospace industry—marks a major turning point.

Founded in 2023 by Rohit Chouhan and Arjun Srivatsa, the company aims to create and manufacture microgas gas turbines locally. The firm claims that its priority is developing a 350 SHP turboprop engine for use in power production and aviation.

The microgas turbine (MGT) engines will be designed and produced domestically. They will have fuel flexibility to allow for improved efficiency and compatibility with clean fuel, therefore advancing the nation’s sustainability cause.

“We are committed to pioneering a Common Core Architecture that facilitates seamless scalability across various propulsion types and power requirements. This infusion of capital empowers us to accelerate our first product development. Our next steps involve recruiting top-tier talent, investing in advanced tools and testing infrastructure and demonstrating our combustion technology.” the CEO and co-founder, Rohit Chouhan, said.

With an eye toward thorough fuel injector and combustor testing, the company intends to use the raised funds to construct a fuel flex combustor prototype. With this project, Nabhdrishti Aerospace will demonstrate its fuel flex technology, opening the door for the next concepts in the 300 SHP to 1,000 SHP and beyond the power range.

As per the Indian Startup Times, Rohit Chouhan and Arjun Srivatsa founded Nabhdrishti Aerospace in 2023, a company that specializes in the design and development of gas turbine engines. Their first project is to develop a 350 SHP turboprop engine specifically for use in power generation and aviation.

The company claims that fuel flexibility in their microgas turbine (MGT) engines will guarantee compatibility with clean fuels and increase efficiency. ND 350, the initial product, is supposed to be a 275 KW turbogenerator. Its 350 SHP when combined with a propeller, powers hybrid electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

This funding round coincides with rising interest in aeronautical firms. Aerospace component maker JJG Aero, with its headquarters in Bengaluru, recently raised $12 million from CX Partners. Jeh Aerospace raised $2.75 million in a seed investment round run by General Catalyst in January.

The most recent investment infusion from Nabhdrishti Aerospace confirms investor faith in the company’s strategy and emphasizes the growing significance of environmentally friendly solutions in the aerospace sector. With ongoing backing and creativity, the business is well-positioned to make major contributions to more efficient and environmentally friendly aviation industry and beyond.
