DRDO Internship for Students: The Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment, also called DGRE, has opened a new chance for students who want real research experience. DGRE works under DRDO and is known for important work in defence geoinformatics. Now the lab is offering a six-month paid internship for students studying engineering or science at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The internship gives young learners a chance to see how real defence research works and lets them learn directly from experts.

How the Internship will work?
The internship will begin on January 1, 2026, and it will continue for six full months. Students who get selected must share a progress report after the first three months. They also need to give a final project report when the internship ends. DGRE will give an official certificate once the student finishes all the work and submits the final report.
Every selected student must spend at least 15 working days each month at the internship. The stipend will come in two parts, with the first half after three months and the second half when the student completes the full programme.
DGRE has set December 15 as the last date to send applications.
Who can Apply?
Students must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Pursuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate courses in engineering or science from a recognised Indian University/Institute.
- Minimum 75 percent marks or 7.5 CGPA in all previous semesters.
- Maximum age limit: 28 years.
Selection will be based on the academic performance (CGPA/percentage) and an online or telephonic interview, followed by verification of documents

How to Apply for the Internship?
Anyone who wants to try for this DRDO internship must send their application by Speed Post. It should go to The Director, Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE), Defence R&D Organisation, Sector-37A, Chandigarh 160036, with kind attention to the HRD Division.
Students can also send questions by email to director.dgre@gov.in. On the envelope, students should clearly write “Application for Paid Internship: Starting January 2026” along with their Branch Code.
