Bharat Dynamics Ltd reported a sharp 154% jump in Q1 profit to Rs 18.34 crore, with revenue rising nearly 30% despite higher expenses and a slight drop in share price.

Bharat Dynamics Q1 net profit: Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) has seen a big jump in its profit for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26. The company made a profit of Rs 18.34 crore between April and June 2025, which is much higher than the Rs 7.21 crore it earned in the same months last year. This is a rise of 154.37% compared to last year’s number. The growth came along with a rise in revenue from operations, which went up by 29.69 percent to Rs 247.92 crore from Rs 191.16 crore last year in the same quarter, reported BT.

Even though the revenue was strong, the total expenses of the company went up too, touching Rs 311.65 crore for the quarter. The company shared its quarterly results after the market closed on Tuesday. But earlier in the day, the BDL share price went down by 2.06% and closed at Rs 1,485.85.

When looking at its performance in the stock market, the share traded below its 5-day, 10-day, 20-day, 30-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 150-day simple moving averages. It was still above the 200-day simple moving average. The 14 day relative strength index (RSI) stood at 37.21, which is closer to the lower side but not yet in the oversold zone, as levels below 30 are considered oversold and above 70 are overbought.

On the valuation side, the company’s P/E ratio is 7.57 and its P/B value is 0.84. Its earnings per share (EPS) came in at 92.75, and return on equity (RoE) stood at 24.08. Trendlyne data shows that BDL has a one-year beta of 1.1, meaning the stock is more volatile than the overall market.

The day also saw heavy trading in BDL shares on the BSE. Around 1.64 lakh shares changed hands, much higher than the two-week average of 88,000 shares. The turnover for the day reached Rs 24.40 crore, and the company’s total market value now stands at Rs 54,465.69 crore. Bharat Dynamics works under the Defence Ministry, and as of June 2025, the government owns 74.93% of the company’s shares.
