More Exports

BEML Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy said the company is giving a lot of attention to exports now. He said BEML wants to double its global order book by March 2027. Right now that international order book is already above $100 million. He also spoke about a recent heavy earth-moving equipment order from West Asia.

That deal included design changes and long-term maintenance work, and he called it a “game-changer.” BEML’s recent filing also showed an export order of $36.38 million from the Middle East, taking its international order bookings to about $106.95 million.

Bigger Plans

The company sees a large business chance ahead. BEML believes there is a pipeline of about ₹40,000 crore across defence, rail, mining, and international business for the 2026-27 period. Roy expects about 50% of this could turn into actual orders. He said rail and metro work may lead the next phase of growth.

Exports may bring 6-7% of revenue in FY27, and the long-term goal is to take that figure to 10%. At the same time, BEML is trying to make more parts in India so it can depend less on imports and avoid supply problems. Right now, rail and metro are the biggest parts of its order book, then defence and mining, while the overseas business is still smaller but growing.
