BEL ₹973 Crore Orders: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Unit (PSU), recently announced additional orders worth ₹973 crore. This brings the company’s total order book for the current financial year (FY25) to an impressive ₹9,801 crore. These new orders cover a diverse range of projects, including platform screen doors for metro systems, radars, communication equipment, jammers, upgraded submarine sonar, satellite communication terminals, and associated spares and services.
The company, however, has achieved only 40% of its ₹25,000 crore target for FY25, which highlights the need for further growth in the remaining months. BEL’s diverse portfolio of advanced technologies, such as radar systems, communication solutions, night vision devices, and electronic warfare tools, demonstrates its importance in India’s defense and electronics sectors.
Financial Success in Q2 FY25
BEL’s financial performance has been remarkable. According to Business standard, the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,450.9 crore for the second quarter of FY25, reflecting a significant 35.2% growth compared to the same quarter in FY24. Total expenses for the period increased by 6.7% to ₹3,299.4 crore.
This financial strength has been mirrored in its stock performance. BEL’s share price has delivered extraordinary returns, nearly doubling over the past year with a 95% rise. Since the beginning of the year, the share price has grown by 70%, and in the past month alone, it has increased by 5%. The stock is currently trading within a 52-week range of ₹159.45 to ₹340.35, further showcasing investor confidence.
