BEL signs MoU with Astra Microwave for EW radar and satellite systems

Bharat Electronics Limited and Astra Microwave Products signed an MoU to jointly design and manufacture indigenous electronic warfare radar and satellite systems to strengthen India’s defence and aerospace capabilities.

BEL and Astra Microwave MoU: Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited has joined hands with Astra Microwave Products Limited to work together in defence and aerospace electronics. The two companies signed a strategic partnership to design and build advanced electronic systems inside India. This move will help the country depend less on foreign technology and become stronger in defence production.

The partnership focuses on important areas like Electronic Warfare systems radar systems and satellite-based technology. These systems play a big role in keeping the country safe. By working together BEL and AMPL want to build modern and powerful defence electronics using Indian talent and facilities.

Focus on local design and production

Under the Memorandum of Understanding BEL and AMPL will jointly design develop and manufacture electronic modules subsystems and full systems. The goal is to grow India’s own capability in high-end defence electronics. This also matches the government’s aim of self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

BEL brings its long experience in defence electronics and system integration to the partnership. AMPL adds its global knowledge in Electronic System Design and Manufacturing. Together they plan to create new and advanced solutions for the Indian Armed Forces and other strategic users. These solutions will support Electronic Warfare radars and satellite systems used for defence and security.

MoU signing

The MoU exchange took place between Mr. Suresh Kumar KV Director Marketing BEL and Dr. M.V. Reddy Joint Managing Director AMPL. Senior leaders were present at the event including Mr. Manoj Jain Chairman and Managing Director BEL Mr. B.M. Chandrakanth Vice President AMPL and Ms. Niti Pandit General Manager Strategic Planning BEL.

It will also help build a strong system for defence electronics manufacturing in India.
