Akashteer: India’s New AI Defence System That Blocked Pakistan’s Drone and Missile Attacks

India’s AI-powered Akashteer air defence system stopped Pakistan’s drone and missile attacks. Fully made in India, it works without human help and protects the skies using smart tracking and fast action.

Akashteer

Akashteer: India’s defence power showed real strength recently when its new Akashteer Air Defence System stopped Pakistan’s air attacks after the Pahalgam terror attack. After that attack, India answered with a strong move called Operation Sindoor. This operation targeted terror camps and killed over 100 terrorists at nine different locations. Pakistan then tried to hit back with strikes on Indian military and civilian places, but India’s air defence stopped those attacks completely.

The Akashteer Air Defence System played a key role in stopping these strikes on May 8 and 9. Pakistan had sent drones and missiles to 26 places near the border, but they were all stopped before they could cause harm. Even the next day, Pakistan sent more drones, and again, Akashteer and other systems handled it well.

What Makes Akashteer So Special?

Akashteer is a new-age air defence system made right here in India. It’s built by DRDO, ISRO, and BEL. What makes it stand out is that it works with artificial intelligence. That means it doesn’t always need a human to guide it. It can think and decide fast all by itselft finds the danger, tracks it, and then blocks or destroys it. It uses inputs from radars, satellites like NAVIC, and ground sensors.

These all work together to give a full, live picture of what’s happening in the sky. Because of this, it can react very fast, within seconds, to shoot down any drone, missile, or unknown flying object.

The system doesn’t need help from foreign tools or satellites. It’s 100% made in India. It’s also mobile, meaning it can move from one place to another easily. This makes it very useful in dangerous or changing situations. It’s being called India’s version of the Iron Dome used by Israel.

According to India TV a news report said, “Akashteer is capable of intercepting and neutralising hostile UAVs without detection, using no active radar signatures. It relied entirely on stealth drone tracking, satellite surveillance, and AI-based decision-making.” This shows how quietly but smartly the system works.

BDL, BEL, HAL, and Other Defence Stocks Rally Up to 7% After PM Modi’s Push for Indigenous Weaponry

Akashteer uses high-end software and very modern tech to make decisions without delay. It can control drone swarms, work with India’s own satellites, and manage battle scenes with almost no human help. One report also added, “With Akashteer, India becomes the first non-Western nation to fully integrate autonomous drone swarms, indigenous satellite surveillance, and AI-driven battlefield coordination into a single combat-ready platform.”

The latest air defence clash clearly showed India had the upper hand. Pakistan’s air defence mostly uses the HQ-9 and HQ-16 systems. But during this time, they could not detect or stop Indian missiles. On the other side, India’s Akashteer worked perfectly and blocked Pakistan’s missiles and drones on time. This gave India a clear advantage in the sky.
