Apollo Micro Systems Bags ₹75 cr in New Defence Deals, Expands Defence Reach

Apollo, a Hyderabad-based defence company, has received orders worth ₹75.2 crore, including confirmed orders and projects where it became the lowest bidder.

Apollo Micro Systems Ltd, also known as AMSL, is a defence and aerospace company based in Hyderabad. On April 15, the company shared exciting news through an official exchange filing. It announced that it has received fresh orders worth ₹75.2 crore. This includes confirmed orders and also projects where the company has become the lowest bidder.

According to ET, the company said, “We are pleased to inform you that the Company, in the ordinary course of its business, has received orders worth Rs. 7.52 crores from DRDO, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and a private company and has also been declared the Lowest Bidder for orders worth Rs. 11.48 crores from DRDO & PSU.”

In another announcement, Apollo said that it has also received additional orders worth ₹50.97 crore. These orders came from different private companies. The orders are for delivering defence products and security solutions. The company said, “We are pleased to inform you that the Company has received for orders worth Rs 50.97 crore for execution of Security Solutions and supply of Defence Products from multiple private companies.”

Strong Partnerships and New Projects

Apollo Micro Systems has been working with many important companies in the Indian defence sector. Recently, the company signed a new agreement with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, also called GRSE. With this agreement, both companies will look for new opportunities to work together.

They plan to make and export underwater weapons, underwater vehicles, air defence systems, and underwater communication tools. They will also provide high-tech weapons and electronics that can be used not only in defence but also for civilian needs.

Earlier, Apollo had also joined hands with Munitions India, which is a company owned by the government. This partnership will focus on designing and building new and advanced defence technologies. Apollo hopes that this move will help them grow both in India and in international markets.

The company also made another important deal with Troop Comforts. With this partnership, Apollo and Troop Comforts will work together to make and sell air defence systems like anti-drone and anti-aircraft solutions. Stock Growth and Market Success

Apollo Micro Systems has become a strong performer in the stock market, especially among small defence companies. It is now a part of the BSE SmallCap index. Over the past three months, the company’s stock price has gone up by 25 percent.

While it has remained flat over the past year, long-term investors have seen huge gains. In two years, the stock went up by 259 percent, and in three years, it rose by 777 percent. Over five years, the stock has increased by more than 1,400 percent.

In May 2023, Apollo Micro Systems completed a stock split. This changed the face value of the stock from 1:1 to 10:1. The share price in the last 52 weeks has moved between ₹88.10 and ₹157. At the latest close, the price stood at ₹125.05 on the BSE. When this report was made, the share was trading at ₹117.80, which is 4.57 percent higher than the previous close. The company’s total market value right now is ₹3,619.64 crore.
