US made progress: According to a senior official, the US has made significant strides in fortifying its defence cooperation with India, and the Pentagon anticipates advancing military-to-military ties even further in 2024.
“I believe that this year has been really positive for the US-Indian relationship, with a clear emphasis on the Department of Defence. “I believe we’ve achieved significant strides in strengthening our partnership and collaboration,” Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder stated to reporters during a press briefing held in this location.

“You’ve heard us talk about things like INDUS-X and working on defence Cooperation efforts to include in the industrial base as far as developing things like jet engines in ndia, working collaboratively to produce armoured vehicles in India, the ability of our ships to go to India — our Navy ships to go to India to be repaired” he responded to a question on Tuesday.
All of this is therefore aimed at realising the shared goal of an open and free Indo-Pacific area where nations are allowed to operate in international skies and navigate international waterways without interference and where sovereignty is respected. We’ll keep collaborating closely with India, our partner. And we anticipate making even more progress in 2024, said Ryder.
