Republic Day 2025: India will celebrate its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, marking 75 years since the first Republic Day in 1950. The event will be a grand celebration of the country’s achievements and progress over the years. Around 10,000 special guests from across India have been invited to witness the parade. These guests will be seated along the Kartavya Path, which stretches from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate.

According to CNBC, The Republic Day parade will feature 18 marching contingents from the Indian Armed Forces and paramilitary forces. There will also be 15 military bands and 31 beautifully designed tableaux.

Tableaux from 15 states and union territories will represent regions such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Goa, and Haryana. Nearly 300 cultural performers will take part, while 5,000 folk and tribal artists will perform along the Kartavya Path. For the first time, 45 different forms of tribal and folk art, including Indonesian art, will be showcased.

This year, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh announced that the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) will not participate in the parade. However, 39 other aircraft will perform 12 different aerial formations. The parade will begin at 10:30 am and is expected to draw huge crowds. Around 7,70,000 passes and tickets have been distributed for the event, with 32,000 ticket holders and 10,000 special invitees.

Each year, the government chooses a theme for Republic Day celebrations. This year’s theme is ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,’ which means Golden India: Heritage and Progress. The metro in Delhi will start operating at 4 am on the day of the event. Those with passes or tickets can ride the metro for free.

Republic Day is a significant occasion for the country, as it celebrates the day when India became a democratic republic. The first Republic Day was held in 1950, and this year marks 75 years since the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
