Indrajaal Ranger: Hyderabad-based Indrajaal Drone Defence Systems shared the launch of the country’s first Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle on Wednesday. The company has given the AI-powered mobile machine the name Indrajaal Ranger. The team says the Ranger can move on the ground while it detects and destroys enemy drones in the sky.
A Mobile System that can Fight Drones

Indrajaal explains that the Ranger can work in many types of land and tight areas where threats often appear. They say the big difference is that older anti-drone machines must be moved from one fighting spot to another, but this new vehicle can keep driving and still stop the drone. The company said it can “detect, track, and eliminate drones while operating in various terrains and corridors.” They also said the Ranger can move around and “execute kills,” giving it a stronger advantage than older systems.
Security groups like the Border Security Force have been struggling as smugglers use drones to carry drugs, fake items, and even weapons across the border. One note shared by the company pointed out how serious the problem has become.

It said, “…the BSF neutralising 255 Pakistani drones so far this year underscored how drones have become the primary transport channel for India’s ₹3-lakh-crore drug-trafficking ecosystem.”
The company also shared in an official statement “Together, these incidents made one truth undeniable: India urgently needed a mobile, fast-response counter-drone vehicle capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralising drones in real time—and saving lives.”
How the Ranger Works on the Ground

On its website, the company calls the Ranger “autonomous airspace control—on wheels.” They say it uses a mix of tools to catch and stop drones in what they call a 4 km combat zone.
Indrajaal also says the system uses low power, so the vehicle can stay active for long times when soldiers deploy it in forward areas. During war or tension, the army can place the Ranger near forward bases or small camps to stop drone attacks before they hit.
The company also believes the Ranger can move with military convoys to block air attacks and protect routes that do not have radar coverage. They say it can also guard ammo storage areas, helipads, and other important military spots from sudden drone strikes.
Detection and ways to Stop Drones
The Ranger uses a DTIM method, which means detection, tracking, interception, and mitigation. The system first sees a drone at around 10 km away. After that, it enters two smaller zones where the Ranger strikes.
The Soft Kill Zone starts at about 3 km, and the company also shows that 4 km is the point where the drone can be captured softly with electronic tricks. In the next part, the
Hard Kill Zone reaches up to 2 km. Here the Ranger uses strong tools like RF jamming, GNSS spoofing, or its own kill switch to finish the threat without damage to the area or signal spill.

Indrajaal also explains the parts that power the Ranger’s job.
1. Protocol Analyser: This system captures and decodes the signals that drones use to communicate with their controllers, helping security teams quickly identify and classify suspicious or rogue drones.
2. Cyber Takeover: This device can remotely hijack a hostile drone by overriding its controls, allowing authorities to neutralise the threat without needing to physically damage the drone.
3. GNSS Spoofer & Jammer: This compact, high-power module designed to be mounted on vehicles disrupts a drone’s GPS or navigation signals, preventing it from operating correctly within a protected area.
4. Zombee Drone: This interceptor drone, launched from a dedicated system, chases down and physically destroys hostile drones using a direct kinetic hit, reported The week.
The cost of the Indrajaal Ranger is not known yet.
