This partnership aims to create a commercial-grade MRI magnet that can be made fully inside India. An MRI magnet sits at the heart of every MRI machine and makes the strong and steady magnetic field that helps doctors see clear images inside the human body without using any radiation.

Both Paras Defence and IUAC will work together by sharing their skills and tools. They believe this will help them finish the research and development work much faster. Amit Mahajan, the Director at Paras Defence, explained this in his note to Business Today. according to Business Today, he said, “there would be a seamless technology collaboration between Paras and IUAC where the development cycle of developing this particular magnet for indigenous MRI system will be much shorter and more definite.”
Mahajan also shared his hope that this new project will help more than just the big cities. He said, “this will become not just a cutting-edge technology but will also be an affordable and accessible technology for the rural India.” The teams plan to complete the MoU goals in 29 months or even earlier if things move smoothly.

IUAC in New Delhi works under the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the Ministry of Education. It is known for its research work and is recognized as an autonomous institute. Paras Defence is a company that designs and builds many kinds of defence and space engineering systems. Most of its business comes from large government projects, including work with defence public sector units and organizations involved in India’s space missions.
