This visit takes place only weeks after Major General Ali Saif Humaid Alkaabi, the Commander of the UAE Presidential Guard, visited India. These regular visits show how both countries value their defence relationship.
General Dwivedi’s trip also comes at a time when the Gulf region is facing fast changes. Tensions are rising between the UAE and Saudi Arabia over the situation in Yemen. In this situation, strong military talks and cooperation become even more important.
