Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, stressed the growing significance of drones in defence and civil protection, calling them critical to future security. Highlighting the rising threat of hostile drones, particularly seen in recent Middle East conflicts, he emphasized the need for advanced counter-drone systems.

To address this, the Mahindra Group has developed an autonomous counter-drone solution for civilian and defence use, showcasing their commitment to staying ahead in this vital technology.

A Multi-Layered Approach to Countering Drone Threats

Mahindra’s counter-drone system is designed to handle drone threats effectively. It combines detecting, tracking, identifying, and stopping drones into one system. It has a Command and Control (C2) module that helps operators monitor and deal with threats in real time.

This system can be used in cities to protect important places like power plants, airports, and government buildings. It is also useful for military operations, offering protection in combat zones as part of a larger system to stop drone threats.

Transfer of Technology to Strengthen National Security

Mahindra emphasizes the critical role of Transfer of Technology (TOT) in building advanced counter-drone systems. Anand Mahindra highlighted the focus on adopting and manufacturing cutting-edge Radio Frequency (RF)-based counter-drone solutions to protect key national assets.

Recently, Mahindra’s team demonstrated their counter-drone system to the Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj Police, showcasing its potential for use during the Kumbh Mela. This large religious event attracts millions, and the system’s ability to neutralize hostile drones can help ensure public safety during such mass gatherings.

The Mahindra Marksman: A Leap in Armored Mobility

Mahindra has also developed the Marksman, India’s first armoured capsule-based Infantry mobility vehicle. It is designed to protect defence, paramilitary, and police personnel from small arms fire and grenade attacks.

Suitable for counterterrorism and traditional military roles, the Marksman enhances India’s security capabilities, providing much-needed protection in high-risk situations.
