India-Kyrgyzstan Military Exercise: The twelfth edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise, KHANJAR-XII, is set to begin in Kyrgyzstan from March 10 to 23. This annual event, which started in 2011, has become a key part of the growing strategic partnership between the two nations. The exercise alternates between India and Kyrgyzstan each year, with the last edition held in India in January 2024.
According to Ministry of Defence , the Indian team includes soldiers from The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces), while the Kyrgyz side is represented by the Kyrgyz Scorpion Brigade.

The main goal of the exercise is to share knowledge and best practices in Counter Terrorism and Special Forces operations, especially in challenging environments like urban areas and high-altitude mountainous regions.
The training will also focus on advanced skills such as sniping, complex building interventions, and mountain survival techniques, according to the Ministry of Defence.
The exercise will include cultural exchanges, such as celebrating the Kyrgyz festival of Nowruz. These activities aim to strengthen the friendship and understanding between the two countries.
