Imdadul Hussain Bora President’s Medal: Imdadul Hussain Bora, an Inspector General from Assam, has received one of the highest police honours in the country. This medal is given to police officers who show long years of outstanding service and strong commitment to their duty. It recognises honesty, discipline, and hard work in protecting people and maintaining law and order.
The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service is announced every year as part of the Republic Day honours. It is given only to officers who have shown exceptional dedication over a long time. Imdadul Hussain Bora was selected because of his special and distinguished service record.

Assam Police Medal Given to 18 Personnel
Along with this major honour, the Assam government also announced the Assam Police Medal for Meritorious Service. This award was given to 18 personnel from Assam Police, Fire Service, and Home Guard and Civil Defence. The medal is given to those who show strong dedication, smart thinking, and deep commitment to their duty.
From the Assam Police, the award went to Superintendents of Police Pranab Jyoti Goswami, Dr Sadeque Ali Ahmed, Ripul Das, Nabaneet Mahanta, and Saurav Jyoti Saikia. Other police officers honoured include Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Moran, Inspector Jagdish Kalita, Sub Inspectors Parikshit Uzir and Pabin Chandra Das, and Lance Naiks Suresh Boro, Hobibur Rahman, Diganta Kumar Nath, Prasad Talukdar, and Hemadhar Borah, reported Guwahatiplus.

The Fire Service also saw two officers receive the medal. They are Sub Officer Bhuban Chandra Mali and Leading Fireman Nandeswar Das. From Home Guard and Civil Defence, Deputy Controller Jaleswar Deka and Platoon Commander Chakradhar Barman were honoured.
