Gallantry Awards for Operation Sindoor: The central government has put out a new gazette that shows which soldiers got gallantry awards for being very brave in different military missions, including Operation Sindoor. Most of the awards go to soldiers from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force who showed great courage and spirit while protecting the country.

The gazette names officers like Colonel Koshank Lamba, Lieutenant Colonel Sushil Bisht, Group Captain Ranjeet Singh Sidhu, and Group Captain Animesh Patni. These soldiers got the awards for being fearless and doing tough missions that kept the country safe.

Army Officers Honoured

Colonel Koshank Lamba has received the Vir Chakra for his brave and selfless actions on the battlefield. The notification said, “Colonel Koshank Lamba has been awarded Vir Chakra for displaying exceptional bravery, valour and courage under fire, reflecting the traditional martial ethos of the Indian Army.” His leadership and courage under dangerous situations showed the true spirit of the Indian Army.

Another Vir Chakra has gone to Lieutenant Colonel Sushil Bisht for his brave command during an operation. As Officer Commanding, he showed great leadership and inspired his soldiers.

The notification said that “During an Operation, Lieutenant Colonel Bisht, as Officer Commanding, displayed exceptional courage, leadership and operational brilliance. He led his unit to resounding success by causing complete destruction of terrorist camps.” His bold actions and planning helped the operation succeed without giving the enemy any chance to recover.

Air Force Officers Recognized for their Missions

Group Captain Ranjeet Singh Sidhu from the Indian Air Force has also been awarded the Vir Chakra for leading his squadron on difficult missions. He carried out strike missions against pre-selected targets and made sure every task was completed perfectly. The government said, “Fighter pilot Group Captain Ranjeet Singh Sidhu has been awarded the Vir Chakra for command of his squadron on effective strike missions against pre-selected targets, in which all operational tasks were accomplished.”

Group Captain Animesh Patni, commanded a strategic Surface to Air Missile (SAM) squadron from a forward airbase. His sharp direction during a key mission caused heavy damage to the enemy. He made sure no harm came to his own resources. The notification said “His accurate direction caused immense damage to the enemy without inflicting any damage to his own resources, and he was awarded the Vir Chakra.”
