Defence Ministry Approves ₹100 Crore for New Sainik School in Assam’s Karbi Anglong District

New Sainik School in Assam: The Central Government has approved Rs. 100 crores to build a new Sainik School in Langvoku, located in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district. The Defence Ministry has set aside this money as a grant for the 2024-25 financial year. The funds will be used specifically for constructing the school building.

Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, shared his thanks on social media. He thanked the Defence Ministry for the financial support and said, “This will greatly enhance quality education and discipline among our students.” He also gave special thanks to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for his help. According to Free Press Journal, the Rs. 100 crore is part of a bigger plan, where the government has allocated Rs. 335.87 crore for education projects.

Numal Momin, the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, also spoke about this development. He called it a proud moment for Assam and mentioned that this will be the second Sainik School in the state. The school will be in the 108th Bokajan (S.T.) Legislative Assembly Constituency. Momin said the school will help shape the future of Assam’s youth by teaching them discipline, leadership skills, and a strong sense of service to the country.
