Military defence projects: India has taken a big step toward making its own defence equipment. The Defence Acquisition Council, which is led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved 10 new defence buying plans. These plans are worth around ₹1.05 lakh crore. The government made it clear that everything approved this time will be made in India. This is part of India’s push to become more self-reliant in defence production, something the government calls ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
The official statement said all these systems will help make India’s armed forces stronger. The things approved cover both land and air defence needs. Some of the important systems include Armoured Recovery Vehicles, Surface-to-Air Missiles, Electronic Warfare Systems, and a smart inventory management system that will be used by all three defence forces, reported Ministry of Defence.

These new systems are expected to make the army more mobile, improve its air defence, and help manage equipment better. This will make Indian forces more ready for any kind of challenge.
Naval Strength and Self-reliance
The council didn’t just stop with land and air forces. It also gave approval for new systems for the Navy. These include Moored Mines, Mine Counter Measure Vessels, Submersible Autonomous Vessels, and Super Rapid Gun Mounts. These tools will help protect Indian and merchant ships in dangerous waters. The sea is not always safe, so these new things will help the Navy reduce risks in areas where there might be threats.

The council also gave green signal for items under a special category called Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured). This means the designs, the tech, and the production will all be from Indian companies. This will help India and Indian companies to get their own idea and boost the nation.
