US EA-37B Compass Call to Iran: The United States has brought in a powerful new war plane called the EA-37B Compass Call as part of its wider military pressure on Iran. The aircraft was seen at RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom and is now being counted among assets linked to Operation Epic Fury.
This is important because the plane is not made to drop bombs first. Its main job is to confuse the enemy, break their signals, and make it harder for them to fight in an organized way. Reuters has also reported that Mojtaba Khamenei is now Iran’s supreme leader after the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during the recent conflict.
Flight tracking records showed that two EA-37B aircraft left Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona on March 30 and later arrived in Britain. They used the call signs AXIS 41 and AXIS 43.

Pictures shared online also appeared to show the planes at Mildenhall. Those images matched the special shape of the aircraft, which has been changed from a normal Gulfstream jet so it can carry advanced electronic warfare systems. Even with all that, officials have not said if these aircraft have already flown real combat missions. They have kept quiet and pointed to operational security.
What This Aircraft Really Does
The EA-37B is built for electronic warfare. That means it attacks enemy systems in a different way. Instead of only hitting targets with weapons, it can disrupt how the other side talks, tracks, and works together. The aircraft is meant to interfere with enemy communications, radar, and navigation systems.
It can also make it harder for enemy air defence units to pass information to each other. That gives help to forces in the air and on the ground at the same time. The U.S. Air Force describes the EA-37B as a next-generation airborne electromagnetic attack platform designed to complicate an enemy’s ability to coordinate and control forces.
This plane is also fast and built for long trips. Reports say it can fly at close to 770 miles per hour, go up to about 45,000 feet, and travel around 4,400 nautical miles. Inside, it can carry as many as nine crew members.
That includes the pilot, co-pilot, and a group of specialists who watch signals and carry out disruption work during missions. One major part of the aircraft is its SWORD-A system. This helps the plane get technology updates faster so it can keep up with new threats and changing enemy methods. That is a big reason why the aircraft is seen as useful in modern war.

Big Role for Small Fleet
Currently, he US Air Force has a small EA-37B fleet. The first aircraft was delivered to Davis-Monthan in August 2024 for pilot training, and Air Combat Command has said a total of ten EA-37B aircraft are expected to be produced. The aircraft is replacing the older EC-130H Compass Call and is meant to give the Air Force a more modern and more flexible system for future conflicts. That means even a few of these planes can be important because their mission is to weaken enemy defences before and during operations.
