Raytheon $590 Million Contract: Raytheon, a business unit of RTX, has secured a follow-on production contract worth $590 million from the U.S. Navy for the Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) system. This system is developed as part of a cooperative program with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
The contract includes the delivery of shipsets, support equipment, spare parts, and non-recurring engineering support. The NGJ-MB system is designed to enhance the U.S. Navy’s electronic warfare capabilities, providing advanced jamming capabilities to counter emerging threats in the electromagnetic spectrum.
“NGJ-MB is a revolutionary offensive electronic attack system for the joint force that puts a critical combat capability in the hands of our Navy warfighters,” said Barbara Borgonovi, president of Naval Power at Raytheon. “We’re working with the U.S. Navy to ensure NGJ-MB provides the advanced electronic warfare solution needed as quickly as possible.”

The U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will deploy the Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) system on the EA-18G Growler to counter advanced radar threats, communications, data links, and non-traditional radio frequency threats.
According to Raytheon, the NGJ-MB system helps to reduce adversary targeting ranges, disrupt their kill chains, and support kinetic weapons targeting.
According to Naval Today, the system enables naval crews to operate effectively at extended ranges, allowing them to simultaneously attack multiple targets using advanced jamming techniques. Work under the $590 million contract will be carried out in McKinney, Texas; Forest, Mississippi; El Segundo, California; and Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a completion timeline extending through 2028.
