INS Chilka Welcomes 2,972 Agniveers, Including Women, into the Indian Navy

INS Chilka hosts an event for the Indian Navy’s fifth batch of Agniveers, attended by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, to celebrate their 16-week training and awards.

INS Chilka: The Indian Navy will host the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the fifth batch of Agniveers at INS Chilka on March 7, 2025. This special event will mark the successful completion of 16 weeks of intense training for approximately 2,972 Agniveers, including women, as they prepare to serve the nation.

According to Ministry of Defence, Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, will attend the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Families of the Agniveers, along with distinguished veterans and sports personalities, will also be present to celebrate the occasion. Their presence is expected to inspire the young trainees as they begin their new roles in the Indian Navy.

During the event, Vice Admiral Srinivas will present awards and trophies to top-performing trainees and divisions. He will also release the latest edition of ‘Ankur,’ a bilingual magazine created by the trainees, highlighting their experiences and achievements during training.

The Passing Out Parade signifies the Agniveers’ transformation into a combat-ready, cohesive, and future-ready force. It reflects their dedication to protecting India’s maritime interests and upholding the Navy’s values of discipline and operational excellence.
