INS Chilka, which is the main training place of the Indian Navy, will hold a very important Passing Out Parade on January 8, 2026. This parade is for the 02/25 batch of new naval trainees. The event will happen after sunset and will show the end of 16 weeks of hard basic training. After this parade, the trainees will officially become part of the working Indian Navy and start their real naval life.
INS Chilka has trained sailors for many years. The base turns young boys and girls into strong and disciplined sailors. The training makes them fit in body and mind. It also teaches them how to work as a team and how to live and work on modern Navy ships.

Young Sailors begin their Navy Journey
Around 2,700 trainees will pass out in this parade. This group includes about 2,100 Agniveers. Among them are more than 110 women trainees. All these young people trained under the Agnipath scheme. For them, this parade is a proud moment. It shows that they are ready to serve the nation and wear the Navy uniform with honor.
Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, who is the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, will attend the event as the Chief Guest. He will inspect and review the parade. Family members of the trainees will also come to watch. Many retired Navy officers and famous sports personalities will be present too. Their presence will make the event more special and emotional for the trainees.

After the parade ends, the Chief Guest will lead the Valedictory Function. During this function, the Navy will give awards and trophies to the best trainees and to the Champion Division. These awards will honor hard work and discipline shown during training. On the same day, the Navy will also release the bilingual trainees’ magazine “Ankur”. The magazine will capture memories and stories of the training journey.
