Defence Secretary Visits INS Rajali to Review Operational Preparedness

Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh visited INS Rajali, emphasizing its role in maritime security, operational readiness, and strategic importance.

INS Rajali: On Tuesday, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh visited INS Rajali, the Indian Navy’s Naval Air Station located near Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu. During his visit, Singh took the time to inspect the station’s operational facilities. He was given a detailed briefing about the high volume of operations carried out at the station and the advanced capabilities it has developed to meet India’s changing security needs.

The visit also highlighted the state-of-the-art infrastructure at INS Rajali, which plays an important role in maritime surveillance and combat readiness. The station’s importance in protecting India’s maritime interests, especially in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), was emphasized.

According to Ministry of Defence, Commodore Kapil Mehta, who commands INS Rajali, briefed the Defence Secretary on the station’s preparedness. He explained how crucial the station is in helping maintain maritime security in the IOR. After the briefing, Singh interacted with the personnel stationed at INS Rajali, praising their commitment and the essential role they play in safeguarding India’s maritime borders.
