Soldier death Near LoC: An explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor killed two Army personnel, including a captain, and injured another soldier on Tuesday. Officials believe terrorists planted the improvised explosive device (IED) that caused the blast.
The soldiers were patrolling near a forward post in Bhattal around 3:50 pm when the powerful explosion occurred. The injured were immediately taken to a hospital, but two of them, including the captain, did not survive. Officials confirmed that the third soldier is recovering and is not in danger, reported by ET.
The Army’s White Knight Corps honoured the fallen soldiers, stating, “White Knight Corps salutes and pays tribute to the supreme sacrifice of two gallant soldiers.”
After the explosion, security forces sealed off the entire area and launched a search operation. The Army assured that its troops are in control, saying, “Own troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway.”
The incident has raised concerns about terrorist activities near the border. Security forces are now working to ensure the safety of the region.
