The Army recently included 100 robotic dogs in its ranks, equipped with advanced technology to reduce risks for soldiers while enhancing performance in demanding environments.
This year’s Army Day also stood out as it moved outside Delhi for the first time. The parade was led by Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth, AVSM, GOC-in-C Southern Command, and honored Field Marshal KM Cariappa, who became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief in 1949.

The parade featured eight proud contingents from different regimental centers, with stunning displays of modern weapons and combat vehicles. The event highlighted the Army’s focus on staying prepared through innovation. A “Know Your Army Mela” allowed the public to connect with the Army’s advancements, while the inclusion of the Women Agniveer Contingent reflected the Army’s efforts toward gender equality.
Army Day is a special occasion to honor India’s military independence and the sacrifices of its soldiers. The motto, “Service Before Self,” was visible throughout the event, which celebrated a mix of tradition and modern innovation, encouraging unity and patriotism.
