The contract is for buying 500 specially designed Pre-fabricated Short Chassis Buses. These buses are built to handle rough mountain roads and come with advanced safety features. They will help the Army move troops quickly and safely in tough terrains.

According to Bharat Shakti, the buses are part of the “Buy (Indian-IDDM)” program, which means they are made in India. This supports the government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) plan to boost local manufacturing. The deal will also create jobs and help grow India’s defence industry.

The Indian Army has been working on using advanced technologies like AI, robotics, and drones. These efforts are part of its Vision 2047 goals to become a more modern tech-oriented force.
