The rally served as an important platform for retired soldiers to connect with Indian Army officials. Veterans had the opportunity to raise their concerns, ask questions, and receive updates about welfare schemes designed to assist them. The enthusiasm and warmth shown by the ex-servicemen reflected their deep trust in the Indian Army and the long-standing friendship between India and Nepal.

The Indian Army has always shared a special relationship with the Gorkhas, who have been an essential part of its regiments for over 200 years. Known for their bravery, combat skills, and unwavering loyalty, the Gorkhas have played a crucial role in several major battles, peacekeeping missions, and counterinsurgency operations.

Their contributions date back to World War I and World War II and extend to modern conflicts, including the Kargil War in 1999. Gorkha soldiers have earned numerous gallantry awards, including the prestigious Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor for bravery. Their famous battle cry, “Jai Mahakali, Ayo Gorkhali” (Victory to Goddess Mahakali, The Gorkhas are Here!), symbolizes their unmatched courage and warrior spirit.
