Army Holi Celebrations: Border Security Force (BSF), Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel joined local residents in celebrating Holi along the Indo-Pak border and in the Union Territory’s hinterland. The celebrations brought joy and unity to the region, with soldiers and locals coming together to mark the festival of colors.
At the International Border (IB) in the RS Pura and Samba sectors, BSF jawans danced to Bollywood songs and applied colors to each other. They also shared warm wishes with the locals for the festival. The BSF, which guards the International Border with Pakistan, played a key role in the celebrations.
BSF DIG Sachindra Singh Chandel assured that the jawans are patrolling the borders to let the country celebrate the festival of colours with joy.

“Every festival is celebrated by BSF with full enthusiasm and joy… You can see the enthusiasm of our jawans… We want to tell our countrymen that we are deployed on the border to keep you safe so you can celebrate every festival comfortably…,” Chandel told ANI
A BSF jawan named Sidharth said, “We extend our congratulations to everyone in the country on Holi. This festival of colors brings joy and happiness. We are celebrating Holi with the people here, away from our homes, and we loved it.” Another soldier, Anoop Singh, added, “The presence of locals makes us feel closer to home. We want to encourage people to celebrate the festival without any worries. The borders are secure.”
The Army also joined in the festivities at various locations along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterlands of Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Kishtwar, and Doda districts. CRPF units held their own celebrations in different areas, spreading the spirit of Holi.

In Jammu, Hindus and Muslims celebrated Holi together, applying colors to each other and sharing the joy of the festival. A Muslim woman at the event said, “Today is the month of Ramzan, but we jointly celebrate Eid, Holi, and Diwali together. We appreciate it. We have come together through the Umeed group to celebrate it.” A Hindu woman added, “We have been celebrating all Hindu and Muslim festivals together for the past 15 years here.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also organized Holi celebrations at various offices in Jammu and district headquarters. The festival, which marks the arrival of spring, symbolizes the victory of good over evil and promotes inclusiveness and humanity.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, ministers, and party leaders sent their greetings to the people on Holi. The celebrations highlighted the unity and shared joy among people of different communities, making the festival even more special.
