Aero India 2025: Lt Gen Raja Subramani Showcases India’s Push for Self-Reliant Defence

The Army Staff is enhancing its drone defense system at Aero India 2025, focusing on innovative technologies to protect against modern security challenges.

Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS), visited Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru to see new defence technologies that can strengthen India’s military. He focused on innovations in Army Air Defence, especially systems that can protect against drone threats.

During his visit, experts explained the Vehicle Mounted Counter Storm Drone System, a powerful weapon being developed for the Army. This advanced system is designed to stop enemy drones, including drone swarms, using precision-guided weapons.

It has special sensors like radars and day-night cameras, making it highly effective in detecting and destroying threats. The Army spokesperson said this system will help soldiers tackle modern security challenges.

Lt Gen Raja Subramani spoke about India’s efforts to develop its own military technology instead of depending on imports. He said, “India’s focus on indigenisation is making the military stronger and more self-sufficient. Systems like the Counter Storm Drone System show how we are building solutions that match our unique needs”, reported by The Statesman.
