Aquino Squadron Wins ‘The Commandant’s Banner’ at Air Force Academy in Dundigal

The grand Commandant’s Banner ceremony at Air Force Academy in Dundigal honored exceptional performance after a series of rigorous competitions, including physical challenges, sports, and academic exams.

Aquino Squadron: The grand Commandant’s Banner presentation ceremony took place on Saturday at the Tejas Parade Ground, Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal.

Awarding the Commandant’s Banner is a symbol of exceptional performance, marking the end of a rigorous series of competitions. These included a variety of activities such as physical challenges, sports, debates, quizzes, cultural events, cross-country races, field camps, drill contests, and academic exams.

GDIT Secures US Army Training Support Services Task Orders

The highlight of the event was the prestigious Inter-Squadron Drill competition. According to Telanganatoday, Aquino Squadron won the competition with perfect drill movements, strong commands, and great teamwork.

The Flight Cadets and Under Trainee Flying Officers (UTFOs) impressed the audience, including all the instructors and senior officers at the Academy. Their march, along with the inspiring music from the IAF Band, was a great sight.

At the end of the event, Aquino Squadron was named the Champion Squadron for the Autumn Term 2024. Squadron Cadet Captain, Flight Cadet Phalke Saee Vikram, marched forward confidently to accept the banner from Air Marshal S Shrinivas, Commandant of AFA.
