Paras Defence and MicroCon: Mumbai-based Paras Defence and Space Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with Israel’s MicroCon Vision Systems. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to revolutionize India’s surveillance capabilities by locally producing advanced drone cameras at substantially lower costs.
Currently India imports high-end Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) payloads for drones at prices ranging between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 40 lakh per unit. This new partnership promises to slash these costs by 50-60 percent, making sophisticated surveillance technology more accessible to India’s defense forces, security agencies, and commercial operators.

As per Business World, under this MoU, MicroCon Vision will serve as the exclusive supplier of ISR payloads and Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) seekers to Paras Defence. In return, Paras Defence will act as MicroCon’s sole partner for ISR operations within India. The collaboration will focus on integrating Indian-made components into these systems
“This collaboration represents a major leap forward in India’s defence capabilities,” said Munjal Sharad Shah, Managing Director of Paras Defence. “We are committed to supporting India’s strategic goals and strengthening domestic manufacturing.”
The partnership comes at a time when India’s drone industry is experiencing rapid growth, projected to expand at 17% annually until 2029. Demand is surging across multiple sectors including defense, homeland security, disaster management, and industrial applications. Drone cameras, being among the most expensive components, have remained a significant import dependency – a gap his collaboration aims to address.
MicroCon CEO Chen Almog echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our partnership with Paras Defence aligns with our strategy to expand globally through strong local collaborations. By combining our expertise in ISR payloads with Paras Defence’s market insights, we aim to foster innovation and boost India’s defence infrastructure.”
Paras Defence and MicroCon: MoU
Under the MoU, they’re making new, super smart drone cameras. These cameras will have computer brains (AI) to understand what they see, take really clear pictures, and even see heat. This makes them way better for things like watching borders, checking big machines, or helping when something bad happens.

This collaboration also strengthens the growing defense technology partnership between India and Israel. With Paras Defence’s established presence in aerospace and defense manufacturing and MicroCon’s expertise in electro-optical systems, the alliance positions India as a potential global hub for advanced ISR technology production.
Making these cameras in India is important because India wants to make more of its own army stuff. This means they won’t have to buy as much from other countries, and they’ll create jobs in India.
Paras Defence knows a lot about making things for space and missiles. They see making drone cameras as a good way to grow. They’re helping India make its army better, and this deal makes them even more important.
These cheaper drone cameras should be ready in about a year or two. This could really change how India uses drones for the army and for regular work. People think this deal could lead to more deals between Indian and Israeli companies.
