India Deal For Advanced ECGNSS Satellite Jammers: On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Ministry of Defence signed a deal with Accord Software and Systems Private Limited (ASSPL), Bengaluru, to buy 20 enhanced capability global navigation satellite system (ECGNSS) jammers for the Indian Navy. The deal is worth Rs 449 crore, and the systems must have at least 75% indigenous content. The contract was signed under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh was present.

These jammers are meant to make enemy GNSS receivers work badly by hurting signal finding and tracking. They can also use signal spoofing or deceptive jamming. In simple words, they are made to confuse the other side’s navigation systems so Indian Navy ships can operate more safely in tough, multi-threat situations.
The ministry said the deal “reinforces the government’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India”. The same release also said it is an important step in the effort to build stronger defence power and bring advanced military technology home.
India’s defence growth and tech push
The text also points to a bigger change in India’s defence sector over the last 10 years. Defence production has gone up by 174% to Rs 1.54 lakh crore, while exports have grown 34 times to Rs 23,622 crore. Around Rs 15,000 crore of those exports came from the private sector.

At the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj, Dr Jitendra Singh said India has entered a new stage in its defence journey. He said “warfare is no longer defined by physical strength alone” and is now driven more by advanced technology, live data systems, and automated platforms. They also said space, atomic energy, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies are now part of defence readiness.
He added that India has made fast progress in quantum-secure communication, which he said will matter a lot in future war systems. He also said the current 2026-27 budget sets aside Rs 681,000 crore for defence, which is 9.5% more than last year.
