DRDO New Tech Systems to Armed Forces: December 5, 2025. These systems were built under the Technology Development Fund scheme, which helps Indian companies make important defence tools inside the country. The aim is to support local skills and reduce the need to buy from other nations.
The ministry said, “Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has handed over seven technologies developed under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme to the three Services.” These technologies cover many different defence needs, from underwater sensing to jammer support for aircraft.
The government explained that the list includes an indigenous high-voltage power supply for airborne self-protection jammers, a tide-efficient gangway for naval jetties, and advanced very low frequency-high frequency switching matrix systems, reported The Hindu.
It also includes VLF loop aerials for underwater platforms, an indigenous waterjet propulsion system for fast interceptor craft, a process that recovers lithium precursors from used lithium-ion batteries, and a long-life seawater battery system that supports underwater sensing and long surveillance missions.
Technology Built with Indian Industry
The ministry said that every technology in this batch was created with strong teamwork between Indian companies and DRDO experts. It added that each item was “extensively tested” before being handed over. This shows how the TDF scheme supports local industry and focuses on “import substitution and critical technology development”.
These technologies were officially handed over during a meeting of the Empowered Committee of DRDO. This meeting took place at DRDO Bhawan in New Delhi on December 2 under the leadership of Samir V. Kamat, who is the Secretary of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO.

More Projects and New Plans
During the meeting, the Committee looked at many project ideas and talked about their importance. The ministry said the Committee approved 12 new projects in areas like strategic systems, aerospace needs, naval tools and electronic warfare technologies. These fresh approvals show India’s strong push to grow local defence power and reduce the need for foreign technology.
The ministry said, “These approvals underscore the continued focus on building domestic capability and reducing dependency on foreign technologies in critical and emerging technology areas.”
The Committee also talked about how different types of TDF projects should be approved in the future. The members stressed the need to speed up the full process from idea to final product, so the Services get what they need on time. They discussed how the defence forces will use the new technologies and how the next steps for buying and deploying them must become smoother.
