BEL Military Defence Orders: On May 24, 2026, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) said it had won new orders worth ₹608 crore. The company shared this in a regulatory filing, and the news came into focus on May 25, 2026. BEL said the fresh orders were received since its last update on May 5, 2026. The Navratna defence PSU is one of India’s big names in defence electronics and works under the Ministry of Defence.
BEL is known for making electronic systems for the armed forces. It works in radar, secure communication, electronic warfare, and defence sensors. The company has also been pushing its role in India’s “Make in India” effort, where more defence gear is built at home instead of being bought from outside.

What is in the New Order List
The new orders cover a wide mix of defence and support systems. BEL said these include communication equipment, avionics, an information fusion centre, a coastal surveillance radar system, seekers, jammers, tank sub-systems, laser-based fuzes, simulators, medical electronics, batteries, spares, services, and other support work. The spread of items shows that BEL is not working in just one corner of defence tech. It is supplying equipment for land, air, and sea use.
A little before this, BEL had also won a bigger order on May 5, 2026. That contract was worth ₹1,251 crore, excluding taxes, for the Ground Based Mobile ELINT System, or GBMES, for the Indian Army. BEL said the system was designed and developed by DLRL Hyderabad and manufactured by BEL. The company also said the system can detect, classify, and locate different kinds of radars and can intercept and analyse communication signals.

BEL has been on a strong run with repeated order wins in 2026. It had earlier said on April 22, 2026, that it secured orders worth ₹569 crore, and the company’s official site described those orders as including avionics, EW systems, high energy laser, communication equipment, tank sub-systems, laser-based fuzes, test equipment, upgrades, spares, and services. That gives a good sense of how wide BEL’s work has become.
The company’s larger business base also looks strong. BEL said it achieved a provisional turnover of around ₹26,750 crore in FY 2025-26, which was up 16.2% from the year before. Its total order book stood at around ₹74,000 crore as of April 1, 2026, according to a later market report. With more orders coming in, BEL keeps adding more work to its pipeline and stays important in India’s defence build-up.
