Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef also checked how ready the security and emergency forces were before Hajj 2026. The Saudi Press Agency said he supervised the readiness of the Hajj security forces and reviewed their operational plans. The ministry has said the full security system is meant to protect pilgrims while the rituals are taking place.
What the security plan includes
The plan is not just about soldiers. It also uses special police, crowd control teams, medical units and CBRN defence groups. CBRN means chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence. These teams will help guard the Grand Mosque, manage entrances, and move fast if any emergency happens. Saudi reports also say the operation includes helicopters, armoured vehicles, aerial watching and drills for evacuation, firefighting and counterterror work. The yearly Hajj security parade in Makkah showed police, border guards, traffic teams and medical staff as part of the wider setup.
