BEL and Esri Partnership: Esri India and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, or MoU, to work together on defence projects that use GIS, location intelligence, and GeoAI. BEL is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, and the two companies already have a history of working on projects for India’s defence services. This new agreement is meant to take that work further and make the partnership stronger.

What the two companies will do?
Under this MoU, both sides will look for new defence opportunities together. BEL will bring its strong knowledge of defence electronics and system integration. Esri India will bring its GIS, location intelligence, and GeoAI tools.
The two companies will also work on getting GIS solutions ready quickly when defence needs become urgent and fast-moving. Esri India will also help BEL with training so that BEL can build its own in-house skills in GIS and GeoAI on the ‘Indo ArcGIS’ platform. GIS is already used in defence to support intelligence, operations, and readiness, and GeoAI is being seen as a bigger part of modern defence work.

In simple words, the goal is to help defence teams see the map better, understand the situation faster, and make smarter choices in the field.
