US Navy P-8A Poseidon crew members visited VIT University for Tiger Triumph 2025 exercise. They discussed defense technology, teamwork, and peace in the region.

Tiger TRIUMPH 2025: As part of the ongoing Tiger Triumph 2025 exercise, seventeen US Navy crew members from the P-8A Poseidon aircraft visited Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University in Tamil Nadu on April 10. This visit gave students a chance to interact with the US Navy and learn more about defence technology, teamwork, and how both nations work together for peace and safety in the region. The US Embassy and Consulates in India shared this news in an official press release.

Before coming to the university, the US crew had visited the Indian Naval Air Station INS Rajali. At VIT, the university’s Vice President, Sekar Viswanathan, welcomed the US service members. The crew then spoke with many students who study different types of technology.

They explained how the P-8A Poseidon aircraft works and how it is used in joint missions with the Indian Navy. They also talked about how new technologies help during emergencies, improve security at sea, and support peace in the region, reported by ANI.

US Consulate General Chennai Public Diplomacy Officer Eric Atkins also joined the visit. He said that the meeting was a strong example of how both countries are building their relationship through education and teamwork.

“Tiger Triumph is a bridge between our people and our shared vision for a secure and resilient Indo-Pacific. Today’s interaction at VIT University highlights another facet of how innovation, collaboration, and mutual respect can power our partnership forward,” he said as per the press release.

Lieutenant Noah Conner, who is in charge of the P-8A Poseidon team under Commander, Task Force 72 and the US 7th Fleet, said that sharing knowledge and making friendships is just as important as training.

“Our team is thrilled to be in India for Tiger Triumph 2025, where we can bring this technology and expertise into a realistic training environment that prepares our joint, combined forces for any mission our nations may require. One of the most important parts of this exercise is building personal relationships and strengthening the bonds between our people, and that is what we have been able to do with the students at the university. This is a really special occasion that we’ll remember always.”

Tiger Triumph 2025 is happening from April 1 to 13 in Visakhapatnam. It focuses on working together in areas like logistics, command and control, and operations at sea..
