Madhya Pradesh SpaceTech Policy: Madhya Pradesh has come out with its Draft SpaceTech Policy 2025 and shared it for people to give suggestions. The state government’s Department of Science and Technology is asking citizens, startups, industry leaders and universities to send in their ideas before it gets final. The state wants to become a big space hub in India and it is putting electronics and defence manufacturing right at the heart of this plan.

The draft talks about how Madhya Pradesh already has strong bases like the electronics sector, the defence corridor in Jabalpur and the engineering hubs in Pithampur. These will help the state push forward in the space field. Bharat Electronics Limited, known as BEL, is playing an imp role here and there will also be strong work with ISRO, DRDO and universities.
Madhya Pradesh SpaceTech Policy 2025
The draft policy took shape after two major meetings. One was held at IIT Indore with over 30 experts from ISRO, DRDO, BEL, academia and industry, and another at BEL Officers’ Club in Bengaluru with more than 40 experts from ISRO, SIA India, BEL and top institutions. Both were led by Shri Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology.
The policy goes beyond rockets and satellites, covering the full space chain: upstream work like satellites, launch vehicles and propulsion; midstream areas like mission operations, launch services, ground stations, traffic and debris control and downstream fields such as earth observation, satellite communication, navigation and data analytics.
Building Support for startups
The draft does not stop at plans. It also talks about making real infrastructure like Space Manufacturing Parks, hubs for dual-use components, clean rooms, testing facilities and high-performance computing centres. To help startups and innovators, the state has also proposed a ₹200 crore SpaceTech Venture Fund. There will be money for prototyping, reimbursements for intellectual property and also incubation support so that new ideas can grow faster.

According to Analytics India magazine, Shri Sanjay Dubey said, “The SpaceTech sector is no longer just about satellites and rockets; it is about transforming agriculture, disaster management, urban planning, and industry with space-based solutions. Through this policy, Madhya Pradesh seeks to unlock its industrial, academic, and strategic strengths to contribute meaningfully to India’s global space ambitions.”
