TX ATVs in India: Focus on defence and uses
The Tomcar TX range is built in such a way that it can be changed to suit many needs. It is meant for defence, law enforcement and even civilian use. The design is modular which means it can be adjusted for different kinds of jobs. JSW Defence has already shared that the first trials of the Indian-made TX vehicles will happen with the country’s armed forces once production starts next year.
Mark W. Farage, Interim CEO of Tomcar USA, also spoke about this new chapter and said, “This joint venture is the culmination of a thoughtful and deliberate process aimed at creating a truly strategic partnership. We are excited to hopefully contribute to India’s adaptation to the demands of modern warfare by providing the proven, battle-tested Tomcar platform to the Indian Army. In addition, we see enormous opportunity to deploy the Tomcar into India’s diverse commercial sectors – from mining and timber, to search and rescue, border patrol, farming, and beyond.”
Strong features
The Tomcar TX will come with two choices for power
- One version runs on petrol with a 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 161 bhp and 250 Nm.
- The other version is all-electric and runs with a 3-phase AC motor producing 118 bhp and 237 Nm, giving a driving range of up to 161 kilometres.
Both versions come with important features like four-wheel drive that you can switch while driving, a low range gear system, front and rear differentials, dual fuel tanks, and individual suspension on all four wheels. The suspension can travel up to 14 inches which makes the ATV ready for rough and uneven ground.
