The meeting included senior officials from both countries. India’s team was led by Amitabh Prasad, while Egyptian defence officials also took part. They also checked what progress has been made since their last meeting and planned what to do next.

Plans for 2026-27

During the talks, both countries made a clear plan for the next year. This plan focuses on working more closely between their armies, navies, and defence systems.

They decided to increase joint military training and also improve how their forces work together. Special focus was given to sea security, especially in the Indian Ocean region. This is important because both countries want safe sea routes and better sharing of information.

Another new step was the first-ever Navy-to-Navy Staff Talks. This shows that both countries are now also improving their naval cooperation, not just army training.

Defence Industry and Exercise Cyclone

A big part of the meeting was about defence production. India showed how its defence manufacturing has grown a lot and is now supplying to many countries. Both sides agreed to explore building defence equipment together and sharing technology.

This meeting also came just after a joint military exercise called Cyclone-IV in April 2026. In this exercise, special forces from India and Egypt trained together. They practiced missions, improved teamwork, and learned from each other.

Such exercises help both countries understand each other better and build trust between their armies. India and Egypt are important countries because of where they are located. They connect Asia, Africa, and Europe. Because of this, they face similar problems like terrorism and threats at sea.
