India Destroys Pakistan’s Air Defence in Lahore After Failed Attack on Army Bases

Operation Sindoor, a direct attack by India, targeted Pakistan’s air defence system and radars in Lahore, resulting in no civilian deaths or injuries. The Indian Ministry of Defence confirmed the same level of power.

India Pakistan’s Air Defence Attack: On Thursday India launched a strong and direct attack against Pakistan. This operation was called Operation Sindoor, and it focused mainly on destroying Pakistan’s air defence system and their radars in many different places. This was done after Pakistan had earlier launched their own attacks.

The Indian Ministry of Defence said that the Indian reply matched the same level and power as the attack that came from Pakistan. They also said that one of Pakistan’s air defence systems in Lahore was completely taken down during this action.

India did not hit any military bases inside Pakistan and made sure that there were no civilian deaths or injuries when it carried out Operation Sindoor during the night between May 6 and 7. But soon after, Pakistan tried to fight back. On the night between May 7 and 8, Pakistan sent out drones and missiles to target many defence bases in northern and western parts of India.

They aimed at places like Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, reports TOI.

India Blocks All Drone and Missile Attacks from Pakistan

But India’s defence forces were fully ready. The attacks from Pakistan were blocked and taken down with the help of India’s Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. According to The Statesman, the Defence Ministry explained that “these were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks.”

Some of the Pakistani drones and missiles that were destroyed left behind broken parts in Indian border villages like Makhan Windi near Amritsar and also in other villages like Jethuwal and Pandher. These broken pieces show clearly that the Pakistani side did send out attacks, which India had to stop.

India used the advanced S-400 air defence missile systems, also known as Sudarshan Chakra, to fight off these flying threats. The S-400, which is made in Russia, is one of the world’s top missile systems and can track and destroy many types of flying objects, like drones, cruise missiles, and even fighter jets. It can hit up to 36 targets at one time and helped India stop all incoming missiles and drones quickly.

What Led to the Air Strikes?

The latest fight in the skies between India and Pakistan did not start suddenly. Things have been getting tense for some time. On April 22, there was a terrible terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed, including tourists. After this, India launched Operation Sindoor. In this mission, India used missiles and air strikes to hit nine terror camps and related buildings inside Pakistan.

Pakistan said it had nothing to do with the Pahalgam attack and called India’s response unfair and aggressive. Soon after, Pakistan sent drones and missiles toward Indian military and civilian areas, which made the situation even worse.

India again gave a strong reply to this firing, making sure Pakistan’s guns were forced to stop. But sadly, during this firing by Pakistan, sixteen innocent people lost their lives. These included three women and five children. India was left with no option but to fire back with equal force to stop the attacks and protect its people. The Ministry of Defence said clearly, “Indian Armed Forces reiterate their commitment to non-escalation, provided it is respected by the Pakistani military.”
