India and South Korea Discuss Bilateral Cyber Cooperation and Security Measures

India and South Korea bilateral cyber cooperation: Various issues related to bilateral cyber cooperation including capacity building and training, standardizing and cyber security dominated the second India-Republic of Korea Cyber Dialogue emphasis of the talks.

Amit A Shukla, Joint Secretary, Cyber Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs, led the Indian delegation while Rhee Dong-Yeol, Ambassador for International Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), led the Korean delegation at Seoul on May 28, 2024.

According to Financial express, the two sides also discussed modern trends in the cyberspace and worldwide issues resulting from fast technological progress. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) claims they also spoke on strategies to strengthen collaboration at the United Nations and other multilateral and regional forums to create a safe and strong cyberspace.

Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Embassy of India, Seoul comprised the Indian delegation.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ministry of National Defence (MND), Ministry of Science & ICT (MSIT), Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, and the National Police Agency (NPA) made up the Korean team.

Next year in New Delhi will be the third iteration of the dialogue.
