Defence Ministry Holds Job Fair for over 300 Ex-Servicemen in Delhi

The Defence Ministry’s resettlement wing organised a job fair in Delhi where 26 companies offered over 100 roles to 300-plus retired officers, helping ex-servicemen shift into a new career.

Defence Ministry Job Fair Ex-Servicemen: The Directorate General Resettlement, which works under the Ministry of Defence and takes care of ex-servicemen welfare, arranged a job fair in Delhi. The fair took place on Monday at the United Services Institution of India. It was made only for retired and retiring officers from the armed forces who are now looking for work in civil life. More than 300 officers showed up for the ven and met muktiple new companies for thier new career.

26 companies came forward in the fair and they offered over 100 jobs for the former army men. The Defence Ministry said this fair gave the officers a stage to show their skills and knowledge that they had learned over many years in the army.

Roles and Opportunities for Ex-Servicemen

The companies that liked the profiles of the officers will now take them for interviews and screening. After that, they will get placed in different roles like management, supervision, technical work, administration, and even in big advisory jobs where their experience can guide companies.

The Defence Ministry explained that this type of job fair is part of ongoing work by the Directorate General Resettlement. They keep trying to make sure that ex-servicemen can get a smooth change from military life into civil jobs. It helps them feel secure and respected even after retirement because they find jobs that suit their leadership and discipline.

Free Support for Employers and Candidates

The organisers invited companies to join the fair at no cost. Employers did not have to pay for registration, they got stalls free of cost, and they could also post job offers and access the bio-data of candidates. The platform also helps match ex-servicemen with different work like security officers, supervisors, engineers, drivers, machine operators and technicians.
