Ahuti Mk II Multirotor Interceptor Drone: Hyderabad-based defence startup Apollyon Dynamics has made a new mark in India’s drone sector. Its electric interceptor drone, Ahuti Mk II, has reached a certified top speed of 498 kmph. The achievement has been recognised by the India Book of Records as the maximum speed achieved by a multirotor UAV in India.
The drone isn’t meant for normal jobs like photography or carrying small loads. It has been made to move very fast and chase hostile drones and loitering munitions. The company says its main focus is counter-drone warfare, where speed can be important when there is very little time to react.

Ahuti Mk II Gets A Major Speed Boost
Ahuti Mk II came from the earlier Ahuti platform. The original version reached around 300 kmph in 2025. The new aircraft has pushed that figure much higher and reached 498 kmph. Apollyon says the new version was not made through just a few small changes. The team redesigned major parts of the drone to make it work as a high-speed interceptor.
The work included changes to the frame, propulsion system and motor setup. Around 10 design iterations were carried out during the development process.
Apollyon Dynamics founder Jayant Khatri said, “Ahuti Mk II was redesigned around the requirements of a high-speed interceptor, with about 10 iterations of its frame, propulsion and motor configuration,” according to The Times of India.
The startup has also said that the new 498 kmph figure is well above the earlier recorded benchmark of about 325 kmph for a multirotor UAV in India.

Apollyon Dynamics was founded in 2025 by Jayant Khatri and Sourya Choudhary. The company is incubated at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus and works on autonomous aerial and defence systems.

The Ahuti Mk II project was developed by a team that included Aman Virani, Manas Vichare and Ishaan Suri along with the company’s founders. The startup has also said it has already supplied unmanned systems to the Indian Army. This means its work is moving beyond just laboratory development and into defence use.
