AUSA 2026: Army officials from the U.S. commands in Europe and Africa met at the AUSA annual meeting in Washington, D.C., from October 12 to 14, 2026. They discussed how drones, electronic warfare and battlefield information can help soldiers during military operations. They also talked about the problems troops face in Europe and what tools they need to handle them.
The meeting also covered how the Army can get ready for a major war involving different types of fighting. The officials shared their experience from military work and discussed ways to improve training and planning. They also said that U.S. soldiers need to work closely with allied nations so they can support each other during operations.

Army Leaders Explain Europe’s Battlefield Needs
Brig. Gen. Steven Carpenter, commanding general of Multi-Domain Command Europe, said the event helped military leaders explain their needs directly to Army officials and defence companies.
“AUSA gave us the opportunity to bring Europe’s operational challenges directly to Army leaders and industry partners, helping shape solutions that strengthen deterrence and give our Soldiers and Allies the capabilities they need to win,” he said.
His command joined three other Army formations to share their experience and explain the challenges faced by troops in the European region. These discussions were aimed at finding better ways to prepare soldiers and improve the equipment available to them.
Four Army Formations Deliver Six Presentations
Four U.S. Army formations delivered a total of six presentations during the three-day meeting. They were V Corps, Multi-Domain Command Europe, 7th Army Training Command and 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, reported Defence Industry EU.
The presentations covered operational needs and the capabilities required for future military missions. Unmanned aircraft can help troops gather information without sending pilots into danger. Electronic warfare involves using the electromagnetic spectrum to disrupt or counter enemy systems. Battlefield data helps forces share information and make decisions faster.

The discussions also focused on multi-domain operations. These involve bringing together different military capabilities so that land, air, cyber and other operations can support one another. Working closely with allied forces is important because troops from different countries need to coordinate their actions during joint missions.
LANDEURO 2026 Meeting Set for December
The discussions will continue at LANDEURO 2026, scheduled for December 3 and 4 in Wiesbaden, Germany. The event is organised by AUSA in partnership with U.S. Army Europe and Africa.
The meeting will bring together military leaders, government officials and defence industry representatives to discuss common security needs and possible solutions. Its aim is to help turn shared plans into equipment and capabilities that troops can use in the field. The event will also support cooperation between the U.S. Army and its European allies and partners.
