CRPF Recovers War-Like Arsenal: The Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), along with local police commandos, recovered a large stash of weapons, ammunition, and explosives in Manipur’s Imphal West district. The operation took place in the Kangchup hills area under the Lamsang police station.

According to NE News, CRPF’s QAT teams along with personnel from multiple battalions and local police, launched a 36-hour cordon and search operation. As the security forces approached the targeted locations, suspected anti-social elements fled the scene, leaving behind a significant cache of weapons.

During the search, the team recovered a wide range of arms and ammunition, including seven INSAS rifles, two SLRs, one .303 rifle, one gas stun gun, one 9 mm pistol, two high-explosive grenades, three wireless sets, and multiple magazines and live rounds. The recovered items also included four INSAS LMG magazines, three INSAS rifle magazines, one .303 rifle magazine, one 9 mm magazine, one .32 magazine, 10 live rounds of .303 rifle, 121 live rounds of 5.56 mm, and 92 live rounds of 9 mm.

The operation was carried out by a combined team of CRPF’s Sector QAT, Range QAT, 189 QAT, 69-Battalion (Bn), 109 Bn, 169 Bn, 34 Bn QAT, 86 Bn, 143 Bn QAT, along with the SHO Lamsang and Imphal West Commandos.

This successful operation highlights the efforts of security forces to curb illegal arms and maintain peace in the region. The recovery of such a large quantity of weapons is expected to disrupt the activities of anti-social elements in the area.

The CRPF has been actively conducting such operations in Manipur and other conflict-affected regions to ensure safety and security. The press release issued by the PRO of CRPF (Manipur & Nagaland Sector) praised the coordinated efforts of all teams involved in the operation.
