The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) highlights the value of public-private partnerships in tackling intricate security issues and the necessity of governmental and private sector cooperation.

According to ANI News, the quality, grades, and dimensions of the marine-grade steel, as well as the specific steel factories in charge of producing the product, are among the main advantages mentioned in the Memorandum of Understanding. The Indian Coast Guard’s shipbuilding projects are guaranteed a timely supply of superior marine-grade steel thanks to these requirements.

The Indian Coast Guard and Jindal Steel & Power partnership represent a strategic alignment towards achieving the government’s defence sector goals of “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

Earlier on May 6, the Indian Coast Guard signed a deal with Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited for the procurement of ten 30 mm CRN-91 cannons together with SOP, which was a significant step towards Made in India and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. The local Ordinance Factory in Medak, India, has already delivered the 30 mm CRN-91 cannon to the Coast Guard.

The Indian Coast Guard wants to lessen its reliance on imported materials while improving the calibre and effectiveness of its fleet by utilizing the experience of the private sector.
