The accident in the Poonch sector is part of a pattern of similar incidents in Jammu and Kashmir’s challenging landscape. Just days earlier, on December 15, two soldiers were injured when their vehicle skidded off the road in the Zadikushi-Gurez area. Another fatal accident occurred in September when a vehicle carrying soldiers skidded off the road and rolled into a gorge on the Sukrala Mata Ashram road, resulting in one soldier’s death and six others being injured.
These incidents highlight the dangers soldiers face while performing their duties in the difficult and unpredictable terrain of the region. The army continues its efforts to ensure the safety of its personnel while honoring the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
